Danish Jersey Export teams up with Morten Hollensen
As the demand for Jersey are rapidly increasing around the world, DJE has decided to increase the staff. Morten Hollensen has just started in the company from May 1, 2021. Morten comes from a position as Holstein and Jersey sire analyst and being responsible for the embryo production in Denmark in VikingGenetics. He also has experience as a herd manager in both Holstein and Jersey herds beside being born and raised on a dairy farm.
Therefore, he comes with a huge backpack of knowledge for the customers interested in getting Jerseys. “When the opportunity came to step into Danish Jersey Export, I could not turn it down. The future of the Jersey breed is great and all the hard work that has been put into the breed in Denmark starts to pay off.”, says Morten. He also states that the future regulations and effort to improve the environment fits much better with the Jersey cow than any other breed being the most efficient cow transferring feed into milk solids.
Morten is thrilled to be able to work together with Niels Jørgensen, who has led the company for more than 30 years. For him this is a unique opportunity to learn and by time take over the leadership of the company within the next year. Christian Givskov Petersen will continue to work for the company as well.
